Plain-language summary. The Spanish documents (Terms 2026-10-06, Privacy 2026-10-19) are the binding versions; this page is for information.
Island Crew is for adults only. To create an account you confirm you are 18 or older and accept the Terms. We do not store your date of birth. Accounts of minors are deleted.
Only upload photos of yourself or with permission from the people shown and the photographer. When you upload a photo you agree it will be shown online to other users (and to anyone with your link if you publish your CV). You can withdraw this by deleting the photo or your account. CV references are shown only if you confirm those people agreed.
Required to sign up: age confirmation and acceptance of the Terms (the Privacy Policy is information). Everything else is optional and asked separately, with no pre-ticked boxes. Optional cookies only run if you accept them. The automatic English translation (EN button) uses a Google service, only when you click it, and is for information only.
You can access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or port your data, or withdraw a consent. Download your data or delete your account from your account page, or use the form on the Spanish legal page. We answer within 30 days. You may complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es).
Your CV is not public. Businesses only see your professional profile if you switch on “Visibility for businesses” in Edit profile, and you can switch it off at any time. Contact details are not shown until you start or accept a contact. Before you send an application you see which business receives it, for which job, and what data and documents go with it; sending needs your confirmation. Signing up does not allow us to share your CV with other businesses. Please do not include data that a job does not need (ID documents, health, religion, origin, sexual orientation, union membership). We do not promise you will get a job or that an offer is still open. Report fake, discriminatory or suspicious offers with the report form. Details: Conditions for candidates (Spanish).
If you post jobs or see candidates, you must be authorised to act for the business and describe the job, location, pay and conditions truthfully; misleading offers are removed. CVs are confidential and may only be used for the selection process they were received for: copying, bulk downloading, reselling or reusing them for another purpose is forbidden. Offers and decisions must not discriminate on grounds prohibited by law, such as sex, age, origin, religion, disability or sexual orientation. When a business receives an application it processes that data for its own selection and is responsible for that processing; the exact split of responsibilities is still under legal review. Support tools never decide for you: the final decision is always made by a person. We may suspend offers or accounts that break these rules and will explain why; you can reply or ask for a review at hola@islandcrew.es. Details: Conditions for businesses (Spanish).
We show offers and profiles based on data you provide (profession, island, availability, preferences). A match appears when both sides show interest; it is not a hiring decision, a job offer or a contract. Some tools use AI to help, for example website assistants and CV drafts. The structured-interview pilot runs on rules and stores nothing on servers. If a feature sends your data to an AI provider, we say so next to that feature before you use it. We do not use sensitive data (health, religion, origin, etc.) to score anyone. Interview assessments rely on literal quotes and never on emotions, accent, appearance, age, gender, origin, family or personality. We do not claim our algorithms are neutral or infallible, and we review recommendations for bias. AI used in recruitment can be classed as high-risk under European rules, so the relevant assessment will be done before any automated selection feature is switched on. No decision with a significant effect on you is taken by AI alone. If you think a recommendation or assessment is wrong, ask for a review from your privacy panel or at hola@islandcrew.es. Details: Matching and AI (Spanish).
Each of these has its own box: (1) Terms and Conditions, the rules of use, required to create an account; (2) Privacy Policy, where you confirm you have read how we handle your data (reading it is not consenting to everything: each purpose has its own legal basis); (3) news and commercial messages, optional and unticked, which you can withdraw at any time; (4) use of your image, optional and unticked, only where you upload photos. We record what you accepted or declined, when (UTC time set by the server), which version of the text and in which form. We do not store passwords, sessions or the content of your CV in that record. Records are never edited: if you withdraw something, a new record is added. You can withdraw a consent from your privacy panel or at hola@islandcrew.es; this does not affect processing done before. Your CV only reaches a business if you send it to that business or switch on visibility for businesses; sharing it with a different business needs its own confirmation. Your profile photos are used for your profile; using them on the website or Island Crew social media to promote the project needs a separate permission you can withdraw. Details: Consent and data (Spanish).
Use the report form (screenshots can be attached) for copyright, image rights, minors, illegal content or impersonation. We review each report, remove content where appropriate, tell you the outcome, and keep a record. You can appeal a decision by replying to our email.
